Department of Reconstructive Sciences
Xiaonan Xin received her Ph.D. in the field of immune-endocrinology from the University of Tokushima, Shikoku island, Japan, in 1995. She continued her post-doctoral training at the Department of Molecular-Pharmacology, Albeit Einstein School of Medicine, USA. She became an instructor with Drs. Richard Mains and Betty Eipper at the Department of Neuroscience, and with Dr. David Rowe at the Center of Reconstructive Sciences, University of Connecticut Health, USA. She is currently an Assistant Research Professor at UConn Health. Over the past years working under the direction of Dr. Rowe, she has learned a great deal about bone tissue and ways to assess the properties of bone. She has become an instrumental part of Dr. Rowe’s lab in terms of being a senior research scientist that performs high technical tasks like microsurgeries in the mouse to assess the skeletal repair of bone tissues and also has an important role in participating and organizing the technical staff with phenotyping KOMP mice.
